Death of Terry O’Brien

Obituary

‘Terry’ O’Brien was born in Fall River, MA and grew up in South Boston and Swansea, MA. He graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn. (1959) and attended universities in Germany, France and Ireland. He was renowned for his juggling and wire walking skills, performing in many countries. ‘Terry’ also served in the Navy, attending flight school in Pensacola, FL; and, later worked in Washington at the National Security Agency as a German cryptologist. There he met his wife, Camille, with whom they raised two boys: Eoin Brendan and Seamus Liam. Together, they spent many years traveling with circuses in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

After Terry retired from the road, he was employed by Walt Disney World, spending 16 years at the Florida attraction. The last 10 years of his working years were spent as a weather observer at Orlando International and Executive airports in Orlando, FL. Besides his language and circus skills, Terry was an experienced pilot with commercial – flight instructor ratings. He was an author who wrote a biographical novel entitled,
“Close, but No Cigar – a Street Urchin’s Tale”.
