Richard John Deptula, 75, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness.
Richard was born September 27, 1940 in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident.

He graduated from Lorain High School and served in the US Army.

He worked for Ohio Edison as a meter reader. He previously owned Richard’s Petal Shop in Lorain, and worked for Zelek’s florist and Lorain Products.

Richard was a huge circus enthusiast and an avid collector of circus memorabilia. He even had a circus model built in his basement and enjoyed hosting circus performers at his home. He was the past president of the Circus Fans Association of America and was a member of the Circus Model Builders, and the Circus Historical Society. He was also a member of Nativity BVM Church in Lorain.

He is survived by his son, Jason (Valerie) Deptula of Lorain; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Anne Deptula (nee Springowski).
At the request of the family, all services will be private.
