CFA CONVENTION UPDATE: A LOT IN STORE FOR ’24!

Plans for the 2024 CFA National Convention, combined this year with the fifth annual Central States
Circus Soirée, are taking shape nicely. Scheduled for June 6-7-8-9 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, there will be
much to see and do. We are still awaiting confirmation of a couple of speakers and such, but the daily
schedule is falling into place in a timely manner and will soon be posted on the CFA website and
Facebook pages. Be on the lookout for updates, coming soon.

Among the featured activities are the 2024 Baraboo Circus Parade, on Saturday, June 8, plus a full day
at Circus World, where you will BLAST OFF! under the big top. There will be a circus band concert,
seminars and lectures, a circus graveside memorial at Baraboo’s Walnut Hill Cemetery, and numerous
other surprises as well. There will be a sumptuous dinner banquet on Saturday evening and a gigantic
circus memorabilia auction on Sunday, June 9. If you can take in only one major circus event this
summer, make it this one!

Early bird registration for the four-day event is just $150.00 per person if completed by April 14, 2024. After that, there will be rate increases. For full details, please refer to the registration form
included in this very issue. You can also register online via the CFA website– https://new.circusfans.org/convention-registration/ –and
pay with either a credit card or PayPal.

Discounted hotel reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Clarion Hotel and
Convention Center, at 626 W. Pine Street, in West Baraboo, 53913. A special convention room rate of
$135.00 per night is available, but you must call the hotel desk directly to secure that rate. Their
number is (608) 356-6422. Our block of rooms is held under CFA-SOIRÉE. Accessible and pet-friendly
rooms are also available, so be sure to inquire.

If you have items to donate for the annual auction, please contact Timothy Noel Tegge at (608) 356-
2375 or by email at timothytegge@yahoo.com for details. Because we are conducting the sale to an
online audience (which will generate more income for the CFA than just to members of the
organization in the room), we will need items early enough to create a proper catalog. Your books,
posters, and collectible ephemera will be welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Activities are being examined and sorted through for the program and will be announced soon and updated frequently as the weeks and months bring us closer to opening day. REGISTRATION details will be posted in the near future, but HOTEL RESERVATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center on Highway 12, in Baraboo.
